Follow the temperature below the surface.
A proposed temperature-profiling expansion for your Beacon field kit, connecting observations in shallow water with the sediment beneath it.
Sensor count, spacing, accuracy, immersion limits and Beacon compatibility are to be confirmed.
For temperature profiling. It does not directly measure water chemistry, water level or seepage rate.
Inspired by USGS TROD . Independent Milieu concept; no USGS affiliation or endorsement.

Track radiation. See the spectrum.
A proposed gamma-monitoring expansion for your Beacon field kit, designed to help compare background patterns and investigate changes over time.
Detector specifications and compatibility are to be confirmed. Dose estimates require calibration and validation.
For environmental observation and research. This concept is not a certified safety instrument, radon monitor or contamination survey meter.
Inspired by Army/DTRA M2PRDS radiation-detection and mapping research. Independent Milieu concept; no military affiliation or endorsement.

Take your fieldwork into the air.
A proposed modular aerial survey drone, connecting observations on the ground with a wider view of your site from above.
Aircraft, payload specifications, performance, compatibility and delivery remain subject to development and validation.
Aircraft quantity is to be confirmed per reservation. Selecting Aero does not add a drone for every Beacon station.
Inspired by the Army’s BuckEye aerial-mapping approach and AGC LiDAR research . Independent Milieu concept; no Army affiliation or endorsement.
For field researchers, educators and land-monitoring teams. Beacon is designed to keep time-stamped images and measurements together, with local export included and optional shared review through Beacon Sync.
What to expect from a product that is still taking shape.
It records the package, quantity and add-ons you are interested in. No payment is collected and there is no obligation to purchase. The final specification, price, shipping cost and delivery estimate will be offered for your approval before any purchase.
A shipping date has not been announced. Beacon is a proposed product in development. The plan targets first commercial batches in months 7–12 after funded development begins, subject to successful prototypes, field pilots and production validation. This is a development target, not a delivery promise.
The planned local app, storage and JPEG, CSV and JSON export are included without a subscription. Optional Beacon Sync is proposed at $60 per station per year for shared review after upload. It does not provide connectivity at an offline site. No subscription starts with this reservation.
Yes, that is the modular design goal. Starter owners can select Flux, Resist, extra ground-temperature probes, solar power, the proposed Beacon Hydro H100 water-temperature rod, Beacon Gamma R100 radiation monitor and Beacon Aero aerial survey concept. A hydrogen fuel cell with expandable tank capacity and a wind turbine are also proposed options. Hydro, Gamma, Aero, hydrogen and wind are optional for both Starter and Field Pack, with pricing and integration still to be confirmed. The Field Pack includes Flux and Resist, and is proposed at $48 less than buying Starter and those two modules separately.
The main image shows the Milieu GeoTrace Beacon product family together: Beacon, environmental probes, Flux, Resist, Thermal+, Hydro, Gamma, Aero and its imaging payloads, solar power, a hydrogen fuel cell with expandable tank capacity, and a wind turbine. Package contents vary. Flux and Resist are included in Field Pack; the other expansions are optional. Use the package list and expansion options to choose your kit. Final housings, dimensions, accessories and connections may change during development.
The proposed sealed rod would record temperature at multiple depths in shallow water and streambed sediment, following the temperature-profiling approach demonstrated by USGS TROD. It is a temperature concept, not a pH, conductivity, water-level or water-safety sensor. Sensor count, depth spacing, accuracy, immersion limits and logging interval are still to be confirmed.
The current concept uses a sealed rod and a separate local logger kept on dry ground. Bringing time-stamped temperature profiles into the Beacon workflow is planned; the data interface and compatibility need validation. Selecting Hydro records interest in that proposed add-on. A final specification and price will be offered before any purchase.
Beacon Gamma R100 is proposed around a scintillation detector that records gamma counts and their energy spectrum. A basic Geiger counter counts events without that energy detail. The goal is to compare local radiation trends and flag spectral changes for review. Dose-rate estimates and spectral interpretation require calibrated response, sufficient counting time and validation; no detector or supplier has been selected.
No. This concept focuses on environmental gamma radiation. It is not a radon monitor, neutron detector, alpha/beta contamination survey meter or certified personal dosimeter. It cannot certify that a place, material or water sample is safe, or establish uranium or thorium deposits. Those questions need appropriate instruments, sampling and expert interpretation.
A proposed aerial survey expansion with interchangeable RGB and LiDAR payload options, plus potential thermal and spectral configurations. Local mapping data would be brought into the GeoTrace workflow after compatibility and performance validation. Aero is optional for both packages. Price, aircraft quantity, payloads and delivery are to be confirmed; selecting it records interest with $0 due today and does not add a drone for every station. Final specifications and the complete offer will be presented before any purchase.
Site observation, comparison, education and field context. Measurements and performance targets remain subject to validation. Beacon is not a substitute for certified environmental testing or professional instruments used for drilling and resource decisions. It does not establish mineral deposits, heat flow or geothermal reservoir temperature.
